Aligarh Woman Accuses Relatives of Seizing Ancestral Land; District Magistrate Assures Action

A woman from Aligarh’s Baroth Chhajmal area has accused relatives of illegally seizing her grandfather’s land using a forged will. She filed a complaint with the District Magistrate, who has assured a formal inquiry and necessary action. The case adds to rising inheritance-related land disputes in the region.

A woman from the Baroth Chhajmal area under Aligarh’s Lodha police limits has approached the District Magistrate’s office alleging that her late grandfather’s land has been unlawfully taken over by members of her extended family. According to her complaint, the sons of her brother-in-law allegedly forged a will to justify what she describes as an illegal occupation of the property.

The complainant reported that the disputed plot—originally inherited through her paternal lineage—was taken under possession without her consent, prompting her to seek administrative intervention. She claimed that the contested will surfaced only after the family members attempted to assert control over the land, raising questions about its authenticity and the intention behind its sudden emergence.

District Magistrate officials acknowledged the gravity of the allegations and assured the woman that the matter would be examined thoroughly. The DM reportedly committed to initiating the necessary administrative and legal procedures to verify the claims, inspect the documents submitted, and determine whether any fraudulent activity or illegal encroachment has occurred.

The case underscores the growing number of inheritance-related land disputes in the region, many of which involve contested documents or questionable transfers of property. As the investigation moves forward, authorities are expected to scrutinize the will and ownership records to ensure due process and prevent any misuse of legal provisions.
